Accessibility statement

How we make Zoctus usable by everyone, and how to report accessibility issues.

Commitment

We are committed to making the Zoctus platform and the stores built on it accessible to as many people as possible, including users with disabilities. This statement covers zoctus.pt and every store hosted on a *.zoctus.pt subdomain.

Standard followed

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA published by the W3C. This is the reference standard in the European and Portuguese digital-accessibility rules.

Conformance status

Partial conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA. The sections below identify what is conformant and where known limitations exist.

How we test

  • Automated checks with axe-core integrated in our development workflow
  • Manual screen-reader testing (NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS/iOS)
  • Keyboard-only navigation across critical flows: catalogue, cart, checkout, sign-in, password reset
  • Colour-contrast audit for every component in the design system
  • Review of ARIA markup on modal dialogs, menus and selectable lists

Known limitations

  • Some admin tables with many columns rely on horizontal scroll on very small screens. We are working on alternative mobile views.
  • Product videos uploaded by store owners do not have automatically generated captions. Inclusion is up to the store owner; we surface this in onboarding materials.
  • The rich-text editor used for product descriptions does not yet expose all keyboard shortcuts to screen readers. Under review.

Reporting an accessibility issue

If you encounter an accessibility barrier anywhere on the platform, we want to hear about it. Contact us:

We commit to responding within 5 working days and to fixing critical issues in the next release cycle whenever possible.

Enforcement procedure

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Portuguese authority responsible for enforcing digital-accessibility rules: acessibilidade.gov.pt.

Technologies used

This platform uses Angular 21, Angular Material and the Zoctus Design System (in-house components built on Tailwind CSS). All interactive components support keyboard navigation and have been reviewed for ARIA conformance.

Updates

This statement was prepared on 2026-04-25 and is reviewed at least annually, or whenever significant changes are introduced that may affect accessibility.
